General Situation The tropical storm “DIANMU” was located at Tonkin Bay. It is expected to move to North Vietnam by today (19 August). More rain is likely over Thailand with isolated heavy to very heavy rain in the North and the Northeast. Provinces include Loei, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Ubon Ratchathani, Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Lamphun, Lampang, Uttaradit, Phitsanulok, Phetchabun and Tak during 19-20 August. People should beware of the severe conditions.
The strong southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf of Thailand cause strong winds in the Andaman and the Gulf 2-4 meters high. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats keep ashore lasting 21 August. Rain in afternoon to evening will be forecast for Bangkok and its vicinity .
