General Situation The monsoon trough lies across the Central, the East and the Northeast while the southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf of Thailand strengthens. Torrential rain is still likely over the South west coast and the East with heavy to very heavy in some parts of provinces: Ranong, Phangnga, Phuket and Krabi. The Andaman gets rough sea 2-3 meters high. All ships should proceed with caution lasting 24 October. Reduction of rain is likely in the North, the Northeast and the Central while Bangkok and its vicinity still have outbreaks of rain.

Typhoon HAIMAT trends to pass the Philippines through the upper South China Sea by 20 October. It is forecast to make landfall over southern China and Hong Kong during 21-22 October.
