Thailand Daily Weather Forecast

Distribution On January 4, 2017

General Situation The strong northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf of Thailand and the South, and the low pressure covers Malaysia and strait of Malacca. Severe rains are forecast for some of following provinces: Narathiwat, Yala, Pattani, Songkhla, Phatthalung, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Surat Thani, Chumphon, Krabi, Trang and Satun. People should beware of the severe weather conditions and possible flash flood.

The strong winds force waves up to 2-4 meters high in the Gulf. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats keep ashore. People should beware of inshore surge for a period lasting up to 4 January 2017.

The westerly trough from Myanmar across the North results in thundershowers and possible gusty winds. Affected areas are possible for Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang and Tak. The moderate high pressure over upper Thailand affects outbreaks of cool spells. People should keep warm and stay safe due to the change of weather conditions.
