General Situation The rather strong high pressure still covers Thailand and the South China Sea. Outbreaks of cool to cold spells will be likely in the North and the Northeast.

The strong northeast monsoon still prevails across the Gulf with outbreaks of heavy rains in following provinces: Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat, today. People should beware of severe conditions and possible flash flood. Areas prone to landslide are still cautious, and people follow closely the weather update, after 26 Jan 2017, decreasing rain in the lower South.

The strong winds strengthen and force waves up to 2-3 meters high from the lower Gulf passing south. People along the Gulf should beware of inshore surges. All ships proceed with caution, and small boats keep ashore.

Southern Part (East Coast) Very cloudy with scattered thundershowers.

Heavy rains much of Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat.

Minimum temperature 22-24 C. Maximum temperature 28-31 C.

Chumphon upwards: Easterly winds 20-35 km/hr.

Wave height about 2 meters.

Surat Thani downwards: Easterly winds 20-40 km/hr.

Wave height 2-3 meters and about 3 meters in thundershowers areas.

Southern Part (West Coast) Cloudy with scattered thundershowers mostly in Phangnga, Krabi, Trang and Satun.
