General Situation At 05.00 a.m. LST today (26 July), the tropical depression “SONCA” covers the Northeast. It is moving westward slowly with maximum sustained wind about 55 km/hr. It is forecast downgrade to low pressure cell over the North. Widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy rain is likely over country. People should beware of severe weather conditions that cause possible flash floods until 28 July 2017.

The strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea and the South. More rain with isolated heavy rain is likely in the south. The strong winds waves are likely 2-3 meters high in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats keep ashore until 29 July. Northeastern Part Widespread railfall and isolated heavy to very heavy rain in Loei, Nong Khai,

Bueng Kan, Udon Thani, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Khon Kaen, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom,

Mukdahan, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Kalasin, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buri Ram,

Surin, Si Sa Ket, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen and Ubon Ratchathani.

Central Part Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain in Lop Buri,

Eastern Part Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy to very heavy rain in Prachin Buri,

Sa Kaeo, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.

Southwesterly winds 20-35 km/hr.

Wave height about 2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershower areas.

Southern Part (East Coast) Very cloudy with scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rain in Phetchaburi,

Prachuap Khiri Khan and Chumphon.

Southwesterly winds 15-35 km/hr.

Wave height 1-2 meters and about 2 meters offshore.

Southern Part (West Coast) Very cloudy with scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rain in Ranong and Phangnga.
