General Situation The monsoon trough lies across the lower North, the Central and the Northeast, and the weak southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea and the South. Abundant rain, with heavy downpour, remains over the upper country while the Andaman Sea has weak waves. People in risky areas should beware of possible flash flood due to accumulated rainfall and severe weather conditions.

At 4.00 a.m. LST on 21 August, tropical storm “HATO” over eastern Luzon of the Philippines is moving west through upper Luzon by 22 August before travelling to the upper South China Sea. The storm has no significant impact on Thailand. Travelers should stay tuned for the weather update.

Northeastern Part Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain in Loei, Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham, Chaiyaphum and Nakhon Ratchasima.

Southwesterly winds 10-25 km/hr.

Central Part Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain in Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi,

Suphan Buri, Uthai Thani, Nakhon Sawan, Chai Nat, Sing Buri, Ang Thong and Lop Buri.
