During 26-29 Dec, the moderate high pressure area from China covers upper Thailand cause cool to cold with isolated rain. During 30 Dec 2017 – 1 Jan 2018, another strong high pressure area from China will extended to upper Thailand cause still cool to cold with drop in temperature 2-4 C.
The strong northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf and the South of Thailand causes more rain and isolated heavy rains in the South. The strong wind waves 2-4 meters high is likely in the Gulf of Thailand throughout the period.
Tropical depression “TEMBIN” over the coast of Laemnun . It is expected to downgrade to the low pressure, before moving to the Gulf and the south of Thailand in the evening. More rains are likely over upper Thailand with heavy rain in some places over the south.
Warning
During 26 Dec 2017 – 1 Jan 2018, people in the South should beware of severe condition. All ships in the Gulf of Thailand should proceed with caution, and small boats should keep ashore. People in the South (east coast) should beware of inshore surge throughout the period.
