During 3 – 7 Jan 2018, the high pressure cover upper Thailand is weakening. Rise in temperature by 2-4 C is expected over upper country while still cool. The westerly trough from Myanma moves across the North causes isolated rain in the areas. The northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf and the South of Thailand is weaken. The weak wind waves are likely about 2 meters over the South and the Gulf.
During 8 – 9 Jan 2018, another rather strong high pressure area from China will extend to upper Thailand and cause cool to cold, a drop in temperature by 3-5?C with strong wind and isolated rain. The northeast monsoon prevail over the Gulf and the South of Thailand will starngth causes more rain and isolated heavy rain in the South. The strong wind waves 2-3 meters high are likely in the lower Gulf.
Tropical strom “Bolaven” over the middle South China Sea is expected to made land fall the lower Vietnam during 4-5 Jan 2018 afther that downgrand.

During 4 – 7 Jan 2018, all travelers should beware of poor visibility due to dense fog.
During 8 – 9 Jan 2018, people in the upper country should beware of cold weather. People in the South should beware of inshore surge. All ships in the Gulf of Thailand should proceed with caution, and small boats should keep ashore.
