General Situation

The high-pressure system covers the Northeast of Thailand. Thundershower spells will be forecast for upper Thailand following with colder weather and strong winds expected. A sharp fall in temperature by 3-5 C will start in the Northeast extend to the North, the Central and the East with temperatures fall by 2-4 C and rain chance. People should keep healthy, stay safe and watch for crop’s damage.

The northeast monsoon across the Gulf of Thailand will strengthen during 11-15 January, bringing about isolated downpour in the lower South with rough sea 2-3 meter high in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea. Residents along the Gulf’s shore should watch for inshore surge. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats in the Gulf keep ashore.

Northeasterly winds 15-35 km/hr.

Wave height 1-2 meters and about 2 meters offshore.

Southern Part (East Coast) Cloudy with isolated thundershowers mostly in Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammrat,

Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat.

Minimum temperature 22-24 C. Maximum temperature 29-32 C.

Chumphon upwards: Northeasterly winds 20-35 km/hr.

Wave height about 2 meters.

Surat Thani downwards: Northeasterly winds 20-40 km/hr.

Wave height 2-3 meters and above 3 meters in thundershower areas.

Southern Part (West Coast) Cloudy with isolated thundershowers mostly in Ranong, Phangnga, Phuket and Krabi.

Minimum temperature 20-24 C. Maximum temperature 30-32 C.

Northeasterly winds 15-35 km/hr.

Wave height 1-2 meters and about 2 meters offshore.

Metropolitan Cool ,dropping by 2-4 C. Scattered thundershowers.
