General Situation The strong high-pressure system covers the Northeast, the East, the Central and the North while thundershower spells are likely in the North by today (11 January). Colder weather, strong winds and drop in temperature by 4-6?C are likely in the upper country. The top of the mountaintops will see cold to very cold spells in the North and the Northeast. People should keep healthy, stay safe and watch for crop’s damage.
The strong northeast monsoon prevails across the Gulf of Thailand and the South bringing isolated downpours in the South with rough sea 2-3 meters high in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea. Residents along the Gulf’s shore should watch for inshore surge. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats in the Gulf keep ashore lasting 15 January.
