General Situation

The monsoon trough lies across the upper portion of the North, Laos and Vietnam. The stronger southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand with outbreaks of continuous rain over the country. Isolated heavy rain is forecast for the North, the Northeast, the Central and the East while isolated heavy to very heavy rain are forecast for the South. People should watch for the severe conditions. Rough sea in the Andaman Sea is forecast 2-4 meters high of waves while the Gulf get sea 2-3 meters high. All ships should proceed with caution. Residents along the coast of the East and the South should beware of inshore surge lasting 15 July.

Typhoon “Maria” is expected to move to Taiwan and Fujian, China during 10-12 July. This storm has no effect on Thailand. Travelers should check the weather forecast before departure.

Northern Part Cloudy with fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain in Mae Hong Son,

Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit and Phitsanulok.

Minimum temperature 22-26 C. Maximum temperature 31-34 C.

Southwesterly winds 15-30 km/hr.

Northeastern Part Cloudy with fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain in Udon Thani, Nong Khai,

Bueng Kan, Nakhon Phanom, Sakon Nakhon, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen,

Ubon Ratchathani and Si Sa Ket.

Minimum temperature 23-24 C. Maximum temperature 28-34 C.

Southwesterly winds 15-30 km/hr.

Central Part Cloudy with fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain in Ratchaburi, Kanchanaburi,

Suphan Buri, Uthai Thani, Chai Nat and Nakhon Sawan.

Minimum temperature 24-25 C. Maximum temperature 33-35 C.

Southwesterly winds 15-35 km/hr.

Eastern Part Cloudy with fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain in Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.

Minimum temperature 24-28 C. Maximum temperature 31-34 C.

Southwesterly winds 20-40 km/hr.

Wave height 2-3 meters and above 3 meters in thundershower areas.

Southern Part (East Coast) Very cloudy with fairly widespread thundershowers mostly in Chumphon, Surat Thani,

Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat.

Minimum temperature 22-26 C. Maximum temperature 32-36 C.

Surat Thani northwards: Southwesterly winds 20-40 km/hr.

Wave height 2-3 meters and above 3 meters offshore.

Nakhon Si Thammarat southwards: Southwesterly winds 20-35 km/hr.

Wave height about 2 meters and above 2 meters offshore.

Southern Part (West Coast) Very cloudy with fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy to very heavy rain

in Ranong, Phangnga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun.

Minimum temperature 23-25 C. Maximum temperature 27-32 C.

Phuket northward: Southwesterly winds 20-45 km/hr.

Wave height 2-4 meters and above 4 meters in thundershower areas.

Krabi southward: Southwesterly winds 20-40 km/hr.

Wave height 2-3 meters and above 3 meters in thundershower areas.

Metropolitan Cloudy with fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain mostly in afternoon to evening.

Minimum temperature 26-27 C. Maximum temperature 32-35 C.
