Weather Forecast: During 12 – 13 Jul, the monsoon trough lies across Myanmar, the upper North and Laos to the active low pressure in the Gulf of Tokin. During 14 – 18 Jul, the low pressure cell will move to upper Vietnam and cause the monsoon trough will lie across the upper North, Laos and upper Vietnam. These cause abundance rain with isolated heavy rain over upper Thailand.

The strong southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman sea, the South and the upper Gulf of Thailand throughout the period. Abundance rain with isolated heavy rain are likely in the East and the South. The strong wind and waves are expected in the Andaman Sea 2-4 meters and the upper Gulf of Thailand 2-3 meters.

Tropical depression “Maria” had made land fall over Fujian, China and became the low pressure cell.

Warning

Warning: During 12 – 18 Jul, people should beware of heavy rain and accumulated rainfall. All ships in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf should proceed with caution and small boats should keep ashore.

Central Part Scattered to fairly widespread thundershowers throughout the period with isolated heavy rain.

Southwesterly wind 15-30 km/hr.

Eastern Part Scattered to fairly widespread thundershowers throughout the period with isolated heavy to very heavy rain.

Southwesterly wind 20-40 km/hr.

Wave height 2-3 meters and above 3 meters in thundershowers.

Minimum temperature 24-27 C. Maximum temperature 31-35 C.

Southern Part (East Coast) Scattered to fairly widespread thundershowers throughout the period

with isolated heavy rain mostly in the upper part.

Surat Thani northwards: Southwesterly winds 20-40 km/hr.

Wave height 2-3 meters and above 3 meters off shore.

Nakhon Si Thammarat southwards: Southwesterly winds 20-35 km/hr.

Wave height about 2 meters and above 2 meters off shore.

Minimum temperature 22-26 C. Maximum temperature 31-35 C.

Southern Part (West Coast) Fairly widespread thundershowers throughout the period with isolated heavy to very heavy rain.

Phuket northwards: Southwesterly wind 20-45 km/hr.

Wave height 2-4 meters and above 4 meters in thundershowers areas.

Krabi southwards: Southwesterly winds 20-40 km/hr.

Wave height 2-3 meters and above 3 meters in thundershower areas.

Minimum temperature 23-25 C. Maximum temperature 31-33 C.

Metropolitan Scattered to fairly widespread thundershowers throughout the period with isolated heavy rain.

Southwesterly wind 15-30 km/hr.

Minimum temperature 25-27 C. Maximum temperature 32-34 C.
