General Situation The moderate southwest monsoon across over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand leads to outbreaks of thundershowers. Less rain is likely over the country, except for the North, the Northeast and the East. Still, watch for a flash flood in risk areas due to the severe conditions. The wind and waves are likely about 2 meters high in the upper Andaman Sea. All ships should proceed with caution.
During 5-8 August, the southwest monsoon will strengthen across the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. Outbreaks of more rain, as well as isolated heavy downpour, will be expected. The rough sea will be forecast in the Andaman Sea 2-4 meters high and in the upper Gulf 2-3 meters high. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats keep ashore.
