General Situation The high-pressure system over the upper country begins weak while the westerly winds at high altitude still covers the North and the Northeast. Cool to cold spells, with slight drops in temperatures, are likely in the North where isolated frost is possible on its mountaintops. Cool spells are forecast across the Northeast, the Central and the East. All transports should take extra caution, and people in the North should stay healthy. The northeast monsoon across the Gulf causes isolated heavy rain over the South.
From 27-28 December, another high pressure system over middle China will be expected to reach upper Thailand with outbreaks of thundershowers. Decreasing temperatures with cool spells will come following and affect first the Northeast, then the rest, lasting by the period from 3-4 January 2019.
