During 22-25 January 2019, another rather strong high pressure area from China will extend to upper Thailand and the South China Sea. Morning cool to cold with strong wind and 2-5C drop in temperature are likely over upper Thailand. The northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf of Thailand and the South will strengthen. More rain is expected over the South with the moderate wind and wave about 2 meters over the lower Gulf. During 26-28 January 2019, the high pressure area over upper Thailand is weakening. Morning cool and mist are likely over the upper country while the cold weather remains over the North and the Northeast, with a slightly change in temperature. The moderate northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf and the South. Thundershowers with the moderate wind and wave are expected over the lower Gulf.
