General Situation At 4.00 a.m. on 3 July, the tropical storm “Mun” over the Hainan Island or at latitude 19.3 degree north and longitude 109.8 degree east with maximum sustained winds about 65 km/hr. It is moving west at a speed 20 km/hr to make landfall between upper Vietnam and China from 3-4 July. The monsoon trough lies across the upper North and Lao while the strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf.
Outbreaks of isolated heavy to very heavy rains with strong winds are possible. People should beware the severe conditions that may cause flash flood. The strong winds and waves are likely in the Andaman Sea 2-3 meters high and the Gulf about 2 meters high. Both seas are above 3 meters high in thundershower areas. All ships should proceed with caution, and keep off thundershower areas. Small boats keep ashore lasting 4 Jul.
