General Situation The monsoon trough lies across Myanmar, Laos and upper Vietnam to tropical storm “WIPHA” over the Gulf of Tokin. The strong southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the upper Gulf with torrential downpours over Thailand. People in the risk areas should beware of the severe conditions.
The strong wind waves in the Andaman Sea up to 2-4 meters high and the upper Gulf about 2 meters high and in thundershower areas above 4 meters high. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boats keep ashore lasting 6 August 2019.
Tropical storm “WIPHA” over the Gulf of Tonkin is moving west slowly. It is forecast to make landfall over Hanoi, Vietnam and downgrade to tropical depression and low pressure cell, respectively over Laos and the upper North of Thailand during 4-5 August. Please stay tuned for the weather updated.
