General Situation The upper westerly wind brings about cold air from the Himalayas to cover the North and the upper Northeast while the weak high-pressure system covers the upper country and the South China Sea. The easterly wind prevails across the Gulf of Thailand.
In upper Thailand, there remains a decrease in temperature by 1-2 C and cool to cold weather with fair sky during the day.
The minimum temperatures range 12-22 C, and the mountaintops are cold to very cold with the minimum temperatures in range of
3-12 C. Isolated thundershower is forecast for the South. All transport in the upper country should proceed with caution in foggy areas. During 27-29 December 2019, another moderate high pressure will extend to upper Thailand and the South China Sea with decreasing temperature
in the areas.
The category 5 (typhoon) “PHANFONE” over the Philippines will move to the South China Sea during 26-28 December 2019. This storm is expected to downgrade and dissipate over the middle South China Sea with no effect on Thailand.
