Weather Forecast On 30 Dec 2019, the rather strong high pressure areas from China extends to upper Thailand and the South China Sea while the upper westerly trough prevail over the upper North and the upper Northeast. Cool to cold weather remains in the North and the Northeast while isolated thundershowers with hails is forecast for the North. The easterly winds prevail overs the Gulf and the South with isolated rain.
During 31 Dec 2019 – 5 Jan 2020, another high pressure areas from China will cover upper Thailand and cause decreasing in temperature by 1-3 C. The minimum temperature is 12-20 C in the North and the Northeast while cold to very cold with isolated frost on mountaintops, the minimum temperature 3-11 C. The westerly trough will move to the North with isolated thundershower. The northeast monsoon will strengthen with more rain in the lower South. The moderate wind and waves of the southward of Nakhon Si Thammarat is likely about 2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershower area.
Warning People in upper Thailand should be careful of their health due to the changeable weather. During 1 – 5 Jan 2020, all ships should proceed with cautions.
