General Situation The rather strong high-pressure system covers the Northeast of Thailand and the South China Sea, and the westerly trough covers the upper North and the upper Northeast of Thailand. Cool weather with decreasing temperatures by 1-3 C is likely in upper Thailand. The plains in the North and the Northeast have cool to cold weather and minimum temperatures in range of 16-23 degrees Celsius. Mountaintops are cold to very cold with minimum temperatures in range of 4-12 degrees Celsius. People should stay safe and keep healthy.
The stronger northeast monsoon prevails across the Gulf of Thailand and the South. In the lower Gulf of Thailand from Nakhon Si Thammarat southward, the strong wind rises the waves up to 2-3 meters and more than 3 meters high in thundershowers. All ships take more cautions, and small boat keep ashore until 4 January 2020.
During 3-5 Jan 2020, the westerly trough moves to the North. People in the North should beware the thunderstorm and gust due to the changeable weather.
