The rather strong high pressure area from China covers upper Thailand throughout the period. Decreasing in temperature by
1-3C is likely over the upper country. The minimum temperature is 14-22C in the North and the Northeast while cold to very cold with isolated frost on mountaintops, the minimum temperature 3-15 C. Meanwhile, the westerly trough moves to the North with thundershowers over the areas during 3 – 5 Jan.
During 2 – 5 Jan 2020, the northeast monsoon will intensify with thundershower in the South and wind waves 2-3 meters are likely in the lower Gulf of Thailand. During 6 – 8 Jan 2020, the northeast will weaken and cause wind waves 1-2 meters are likely in the Gulf of Thailand.
