On 23 Jan, the high-pressure over the Northeast and the South China Sea is weakening while the westerly trough is moving from the North to Laos and upper Vietnam. Cool to cold weather is also forecast over the areas. The southeasterly wind prevails across the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity and the East with isolated light rain. The easterly wind remains over the lower South with isolated thundershowers remaining. The wind waves are 1-2 meters high in the lower Gulf. During 24 - 29 Jan, another high-pressure system will extend to the Northeast and the South China Sea while the westerly trough will be move pass the North and the upper Northeast. Thundershowers with gusty wind is possible in the first period over the upper country before temperatures will drop by 4-7C and isolated frost occurs at the mountaintops in the North. In the Central and the East, temperatures will drop by 2-4 C while in the South isolated rain is possible.

During 24 – 29 Jan, people in upper Thailand should keep healthy due to the changeable weather.

Northern Part On 23 Jan, morning cool to cold and fog.

Minimum temperature 14-22 C. Maximum temperature 30-35C.

Cold to very cold on mountaintops, minimum temperature 4-14C. Westerly wind 10-20 km/hr.

During 24 - 29 Jan, isolated thundershowers with gusty wind in the first period.

After that, drop 4-7 C in temperature with cool to cold.

Minimum temperature 10-18 C. Maximum temperature 28-33C. Westerly wind 10-20 km/hr.

Cold to very cold on mountaintops with isolated frost, minimum temperature 1-12C.

Northeastern Part On 23 Jan, morning cool and fog with a slight rise in temperature.

Minimum temperature 18-22 C. Maximum temperature 33-35C.

Cold on mountaintops, minimum temperature 10-15C. Southeasterly wind 10-25 km/hr.

During 24 - 29 Jan, isolated thundershowers with gusty wind in the first period.

After that, drop 4-7 C in temperature with cool to cold

Minimum temperature 13-20 C. Maximum temperature 29-32C.

Cold on mountaintops, minimum temperature 8-14C. Northeasterly wind 10-30 km/hr.

Central Part During 23 - 24 Jan, partly cloudy and morning fog with isolated light rain.

Minimum temperature 22-25 C. Maximum temperature 32-35C. Southeasterly wind 10-20 km/hr.

During 25 - 29 Jan, isolated thundershowers with gusty wind in the first period.

After that, drop 2-4 C in temperature with morning cool.

Minimum temperature 18-22 C. Maximum temperature 29-33C. Easterly wind 10-20 km/hr.

Eastern Part During 23 - 24 Jan, partly cloudy and morning fog with isolated light rain.

Minimum temperature 22-25 C. Maximum temperature 32-35C. Southeasterly wind 10-20 km/hr.

During 25 - 29 Jan, isolated thundershowers with gusty wind in the first period.

After that, drop 2-4 C in temperature with morning cool.

Minimum temperature 19-23 C. Maximum temperature 29-33C.

Southeasterly wind 10-30 km/hr. Wave height below 1 meter.

Southern Part (East Coast) Isolated thundershowers throughtout the period mostly in the lower part.

From Nakhon Si Thammarat northward: Easterly winds 15-30 km/hr. Wave height below 1 meter.

From Songkla southward: Easterly winds 15-35 km/hr. Wave height 1-2 meters.

Minimum temperature 21-25C. Maximum temperature 30-34C.

Southern Part (West Coast) Isolated thundershowers throughout the period.

Minimum temperature 22-26C. Maximum temperature 32-35C.

Easterly wind 15-30 km/hr. Wave height below 1 meter and about 1 meter offshore.

Metropolitan During 23 - 24 Jan, partly cloudy and morning fog with isolated thundershower.

Minimum temperature 24-26 C. Maximum temperature 33-36C. Southeasterly wind 10-20 km/hr.

During 25 - 29 Jan, isolated thundershowers with gusty wind in the first period.

After that, drop 1-3 C in temperature.

Minimum temperature 20-24 C. Maximum temperature 30-33C. Easterly wind 10-20 km/hr.
