During 20 – 23 Aug, the monsoon trough lies across the upper portion of the North and the Northeast to the low pressure cell over upper Vietnam. Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea and Thailand. More rains over the country and isolated heavy rain in the North, the Northeast, the Central, and the East. During 24 – 26 Aug, the southwest monsoon still prevails across the Andaman Sea and Thailand. The monsoon trough that lies across the upper portion of the North and the Northeast will weaken. Decreasing rainfall over upper Thailand.
At 1.00 a.m. on 20 August, category 3 (tropical storm) HIGOS over Guangxi, China weakened as category 2 depression. It is expected to weaken, respectively and dissipate by today (20 August 2020).
