On 17 Sep, the southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, the South, and the Gulf of Thailand will strengthen. Isolated heavy rains are likely in the East and the South. The category 3 (tropical storm) “NOUL” over the South China Sea is expected to intensify into the Typhoon. This storm will move to make landfall over the coast of middle Vietnam and then enter the Northeast, Thailand, during 18 - 20 Sep. Strong winds, more rain and isolated heavy to very heavy rain in the country. The rather strong wind and waves are in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, about 2-3 meters in the Andaman Sea and above 3-5 meters in thundershower areas, 1-2 meters in the Gulf of Thailand and above 2 meters in thundershower areas. After that, during 21 - 23 Sep, the southwest monsoon will weaken and cause less rain over the Thailand.
Warning
During 18 – 21 Sep, people in risky areas of the North, the Northeast, the Central, the East, and the South should beware of strong wind and heavy rains to very heavy rains, and accumulated rainfall. All ship should proceed with cautions and keep away from thundershower areas while small boats should keep ashore throughout the period.
