General Situation The category 5 (typhoon) MOLAVE over the middle South China Sea is expected to make landfall over middle Vietnam by 28 October then downgrade into the Category 3 (Tropical Storm) before entering Thailand. Widespread rain with strong wind and isolated heavy rain to very heavy rain are forecast in the upper country. Meanwhile, the monsoon trough still lies across the middle South and the strong southwest winds prevail across the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf. Isolated heavy rains are also likely in the South. People in the risky areas should beware of severe conditions that may cause flash flood and water runoff.
The wind and waves over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf will strengthen with 2-3 meters high of the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf, about 2 meters in the lower Gulf and above 3 meters in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers while small boats keep ashore.

Surat Thani northward: Northwesterly winds 20-35 km/hr.
