The weak northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf of Thailand and the South cause less rain in the areas. The strong winds in the Gulf force the waves up about 2 meters high in the upper portion, 2-3 meters high in from Chumphon southward, and more than 3 meters high in thundershowers. All ships in the Gulf should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boats keep ashore a few days
