General Situation The weak high-pressure system covers upper Thailand and the South China Sea with morning fog and isolated thick patches. There remains cool to cold in the North and the Northeast while mountaintops remain cold to very cold. People over upper Thailand should proceed with caution due to poor visibility. The weak northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf and the South cause less rain in the South.
From 30 December 2020 - 3 January 2021, another strong high-pressure system from China will extend to upper Thailand. Cool to cold are still likely over upper Thailand with decreasing temperatures by 6-8 C and strong winds. The stronger northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf and the South with more rain and isolated heavy rain in the South. The stronger wind forces the waves up about 2 meters high in the upper Gulf of Thailand, 2-3 meters in the lower portion, more than 3 meters high in thundershowers.
