The strong southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand throughout the period. During 8 - 9 Oct, the monsoon trough lies across the Central, the lower Northeast and the East. Thundershowers remain over the country while isolated heavy to very heavy rain are forecast for the South. During 10 - 14 Oct, the monsoon trough will move up to lie across the lower North, the Central, the East and the Northeast. More rains are likely over the areas with isolated heavy rain in the North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, the East and the South. The strong wind prevails over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf throughout the period. The wind and waves are likely 2-3 meters over the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf, and about 2 meters in the lower Gulf while above 3 meters in thundershower areas.
During 8 - 9 Oct, tropical storm ?LIONROCK? is expected to move pass Hainan Island into Tokin Bay. During 10-11 Oct, this storm is forecast to make landfall over upper Vietnam.
Warning
During 8 - 9 Oct, people over the South should beware of heavy rain. During 10 - 14 Oct, people in the risk areas over Thailand should beware of heavy rain and its accumulation that may cause flash flood and over flows. All ships in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf should proceed with caution and keep off from thundershowers. Small boats in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf should keep ashore throughout the period.
