During 18 - 20 Dec, the rather strong high pressure system from China extend to cover upper. Cool to cold weather with strong winds are forecast in the upper country. Decreasing in temperature 3-5 C are forecast in the Northeast region. Decreasing in temperature 2-4 C are forecast in the north, the Central and the East regions. During 21 - 23 Dec, the high pressure system cover upper Thailand will weaken. Temperature will increase 2-4 C with morning light fog in the upper country. In addition, the westerly trough will move pass the North, the Northeast and the Upper Central cause isolated thundershowers in these areas.
During 17 - 18 Dec, The rather strong northeast monsoon prevails across the gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea while an active low-pressure cell move pass Malaysia and the lower South of Thailand, cause more rain with isolated heavy rain in the South. Wave height 2-3 meters and above 3 meters are forecast for the lower gulf of Thailand. Wave height 1-2 meters are forecast for the Andaman Sea. During 20 - 22 Dec, the low pressure cell from Bangal Bay will move to the Andaman Sea and the South. More rain with isolated heavy rain are forecast for the South. Wave height 1-2 meter and about 2 meters in the thundershower ares are forecast for the Andaman Sea.
The tropical typhoon ?RAI? on the east of Philippines will move pass Philippines to the South China Sea on 17-18 Dec with no direct effect to Thailand.
Warning
During 17 - 22 Dec. people in the South should beware of heavy rains and its accumulation that may cause flash floods and overflows. All ships in the lower Gulf should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers area. During 18-20 Dec. people in the upper country should take care of their health due to cool to cold weather. During 21 - 23 Dec. people in the upper country should beware of poor visibility.
