In during 20 - 24 May, the monsoon trough lies across the North, the upper Central and the Northeast with the active low-pressure cell over the Gulf of Martaban will move pass Myanmar to the North and the upper Northeast during 20 - 23 May. Meanwhile, the rather strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf. The continuous rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy rains are forecast in the North, the Northeast, the Central, the East and the South regions. The wind and waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf will be stronger. The upper Andaman Sea, the wave up to 2-3 meters high and above 3 meters in thundershowers while in the lower Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf, about 2 meters high and above 2 meters in thundershowers. In during 25 - 26 May, the southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf will weaken with less rain and isolated heavy rains in the Central, the East, the South regions, Bangkok Metropolis and Vicinity. The wind and waves in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf will weaken with about 2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershowers.
Warning
People should be aware of the heavy to very heavy rain and accumulated rain that may be cause flash floods and overflows. All ships in the upper Gulf, and the Andaman Sea should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers throughout the period. During 20 - 24 May, small boats keep ashore in the upper Andaman Sea.
