During 5 - 6 Aug, the weak monsoon trough lies across Myanmar, upper Laos into the low-pressure cell in the upper Vietnam while the moderate southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand. Isolated heavy rains are possible in the Northeast and the East regions. The wind waves in the upper Andaman Sea are about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. 1-2 meters high in the lower Andaman Sea and about 2 meters high in thundershowers. During 7 - 11 Aug, the monsoon trough will move down to lie across the upper North and the upper Northeast into the low-pressure cell in the upper Vietnam. Meanwhile, during 7 - 9 Aug, the southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand will strengthen. More rains are likely in the whole country with isolated heavy to very heavy rains in the North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, the East and the South regions. The wind waves in the upper Andaman Sea are forecast 2 - 3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers, about 2 meters high in the upper Gulf of Thailand and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. After that, during 10 ? 11 Aug, the southwest monsoon will weaken with less rain in the South and the wind wave in the Andaman Sea will weaken.
During 7 - 8 Aug, the low- pressure cell in the upper South China Sea is expected to intensify to a tropical storm and will move to lower portion of China during 10 - 11 Aug. This storm has no effect on Thailand.
Warning
During 7 - 11 Aug, people in Thailand should beware of severe condition that may cause flash flood and over flows. All ships in the Andaman sea and upper Gulf of Thailand should proceed with caution and keep off thundershower, small boats in the upper Andaman Sea keep ashore until 9 August.
