Weather Outlook From 4 - 10 Jan 2023
During 5 - 8 Jan 2023, the rather strong high-pressure system will extend to upper Thailand causes cool to cold weather with strong wind in upper country with a decrease in temperature before start to increase with morning fog due to the system weakening. The low pressure cell which covers Borneo Island will move into the lower South China Sea while the northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf and the South will strengthen. Isolated thundershower is likely in the upper country with more rain and isolated heavy to very heavy rain in the South. The the rather strong wind force the waves up to 2 - 4 meters high in the Gulf and above 4 meters high in thundershowers. During 9 - 10 Jan 2023, the high-pressure system which covers upper Thailand is weakening with increasing temperature but remains cool to cold weather in the upper country with morning fog. The wind and waves over the Gulf will also weaken.
Caution
People in the upper country should keep healthy due to variable weathers. Farmer should prepare for crop damage. During 5 - 8 Jan, People in the south should beware of severe condition that may cause flash flood and overflows, especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands. All ships in the Gulf should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boasts should keep ashore. Residents along the coast beware of inshore surges.
