During 1 - 2 Feb 2023, the high-pressure system over upper Thailand and the South China Sea is weakening with 3 - 8 C increase in temperature and morning fog in the upper country. Cool to cold weather is likely in the North and the Northeast while cool in the morning is likely in the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, the East and the upper South regions. During 3 - 6 Feb 2023, the southeasterly winds bring humidity from the South China Sea and the Gulf to the lower North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and vicinity and the East regions. Thundershowers are forecast in the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and vicinity and the East regions. The moderate northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf of Thailand and the South while the low cell covers over the lower South China Sea with more rain and isolated heavy rain in the lower South. The wind and waves in the Gulf of Thailand are about 2 meters high, above 2 meters high in thundershowers and about 1 meter high in the Andaman Sea, 1 - 2 meters high offshore.
Caution
On 31 Jan 2023, all ships over the Gulf should proceed with caution and small boats should keep ashore. During 1 - 6 Feb 2023, people in the upper country should keep healthy due to variable weathers , and all transport take more caution in poor visibility. Farmers should prepare for crop damage.
