Forecast 2 - 8 February 2023
The weak high-pressure system covers upper Thailand and the South China Sea throughout the period with increase in temperature and morning fog in the upper country. Cool to cold weather is likely in the North while cool in the morning is likely in the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, the East. During 2 - 8 Feb 2023, the southeasterly winds bring humidity from the South China Sea and the Gulf to the lower North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and vicinity and the East regions. The westerly wind in the higher level will move to the North and the upper Northeast. Thundershowers are forecast in the North, Northeast, the Central including Bangkok Metropolitan Region and the East regions. During 2 - 5 Feb 2023, The moderate northeast monsoon and the easterly wind which prevail over the Gulf of Thailand, the South and The Andaman Sea while the low cell over Borneo island will move pass Malaysia and the lower South of Thailand into the Andaman Sea with more rain and isolated heavy rain in the lower South. The wind and waves in the Gulf of Thailand are 1-2 meters high, above 2 meters high in thundershowers. During 6 - 8 Feb 2023, The northeast monsoon and the easterly wind which prevail over the Gulf of Thailand, the South and The Andaman Sea will weaken with less rain over the South.
Caution
People in the upper country should keep healthy due to variable weathers, and all transport take more caution in poor visibility. Farmers should prepare for crop damage. During 2 - 5 Feb 2023, All ships in lower Gulf of Thailand should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers.
