General Situation

The moderate high pressure system covers upper Thailand and the South China Sea where hot to very hot weather occur and where the stronger southerly and southeasterly winds blow the humidoity from the Gulf and the South China Sea. Outbreaks of summer storms are possible with thunderstorms, gusty winds, isolated hail and lightning strikes. People should beware of the severe condtions by keeping off outdoor places, big trees, unsecured buildings and billboards, as well as taking off metal decorations and mobiles. Farmers should prevent for crop damage. From 9 to 14 May, the westerly and southwesterly winds across the Andaman Sea and the Gulf will strengthening, and the low-pressure cell over the lower portion of Bengal lead to more rains in the South. In the upper Andaman Sea, the waves are 2-4 meters high and in thundershowers more than 4 meter high. All ships in the Andaman Sea should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea keep ashore lasting 14 May.

Scattered thunderstorms with isolated gusty winds and hail mostly in Loei, Nong Khai, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Kalasin, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram and Surin. Minimum temperature 22-26 C. Maximum temperature 33-38 C. Southeaesterly winds 10-20 km/hr.
Central
Scattered thunderstorms with isolated gusty winds and hail. mostly in Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chai Nat, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Suphan Buri, Lop Buri, Saraburi, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Samut Songkhram, Samut Sakhon, Nakhon Pathom. Minimum temperature 24-27 C. Maximum temperature 33-35 C. Southerly winds 10-20 km/hr.
Eastern
Scattered thunderstorms with isolated gusty winds and hail mostly in Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat. Minimum temperature 24-28 C. Maximum temperature 31-35 C. Southeasterly winds 10-30 km/hr. Wave height below 1 meter and above 1 meter in thundershowers.
Southern (East Coast)
Day hot. Scattered thundershowers mostly in Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat. Minimum temperature 24-29 C. Maximum temperature 33-37 C. Southwesterly winds 10-30 km/hr. Wave height below 1 meter and above 1 meter in thundershowers.
Southern (West Coast)
Cloudy. Scattered thundershowers in Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun. Minimum temperature 24-27 C. Maximum temperature 34-36 C. Phuket upwards: Southwesterly 20-40 km/hr. Wave height 2-3 meters and more than 3 meters in thundershowers. Krabi downwards: Southeasterly 15-30 km/hr. Wave height about 1 meter and more than 2 meters in thundershowers.
Bangkok Metropolitan
Scattered thunderstorms with isolated gusty winds and hail. Minimum temperature 25-27 C. Maximum temperature 31-36 C. Southeasterly winds 10-20 km/hr.
