Weekly Forecast 14 - 20 June 2023
The moderate southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf. Meanwhile, the monsoon trough lies across Myanmar and Upper Laos into the low-pressure cell over gulf of Tonkin throughout the period. During 14 - 16 Jun, the upper westerly winds from Myanmar will move pass the North to the upper Northeast resulting thundershowers in the country and isolated heavy rains in the North, the Northeast, the Central and the East. After that, during 17 - 20 Jun, less rains are likely in the the country, while isolated heavy rains remained in the upper Northeast and the East. During 15 - 20 Jun, the wind and waves over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf will weaken. The weakening wind rise the wave in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf up to 1 - 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers.
Caution
During 14 - 16 Jun, people in the North, the Northeast, the Central and the East should beware of heavy rain and its accumulation. All ships in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers throughout the preriod.
