Weather Outlook During 15 - 21 June 2023
The moderate southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf. Meanwhile, the monsoon trough lies across Myanmar and Upper Laos into the low-pressure cell over gulf of Tonkin throughout the period. During 15 - 16 Jun, the upper westerly winds from Myanmar will move pass the North to the upper Northeast resulting thundershowers in the country and isolated heavy rains in the North, the Northeast and the East. After that, during 18 - 21 Jun, less rains are likely in the the country, while isolated heavy rains remained in the upper Northeast and the East. The wind and waves over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf will weaken. The weakening wind rise the wave in the upper Andaman Sea up to 1 - 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers, the lower Andaman Sea and the Gulf about 1 meter high and 1 - 2 meters high in thundershowers.
Caution
During 15 - 17 Jun, people in the North, the Northeast and the East should beware of heavy rain and its accumulation. All ships in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers throughout the preriod.
