Weather Outlook During 20 - 26 June 2023
During 20 - 23 Jun, the southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf. Meanwhile, the low pressure cell covers upper Vietnam and the Gulf of Tonkin with isolated heavy rain remain in the Northeast. During 24 - 26 Jun, the monsoon trough will lie across the upper North and the upper Northeast into the low pressure cell over upper Vietnam and the Gulf of Tonkin. Meanwhile, the moderate southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf More rains with isolated heavy to very heavy rains are forecast in the North and isolated heavy rains are possible in the Northeast, Central, Eastern and Southern(West Coast). The moderate wind and waves in the upper Andaman Sea are 1 - 2 meters high, above 2 meters high in thundershowers and about 1 meter high in the lower Andaman Sea and the Gulf, 1 - 2 meters high in thundershowers.
Caution
During 24 - 26 Jun, people in Thailand should beware of heavy rains that may causes flashflood and overflows. During 25 - 26 Jun, people in the North should beware of severe conditions that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially, along foothills near waterways and lowlands. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers throughout the period.
