Weather Outlook During 26 June - 2 July 2023
During 26 June - 1 July, the monsoon trough lies across the North and the Northeast of Thailand into the low-pressure cell over upper Vietnam and the Gulf of Tonkin. Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea and the South is strengthening. More rains and isolated heavy rains are likely in the country and isolated very heavy rains are possible in the eastern part of the North and the upper Northeast of Thailand. During 28 June - 2 July, the monsoon trough will lie across to upper Myanmar, upper Laos into the low-pressure cell over upper Vietnam and the Gulf of Tonkin. Meanwhile, the moderate southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf. Continuous rainfalls are likely in the country and isolated heavy rains are possible in the upper Northeast, the Central, the East and the South. During 26 - 30 June, The moderate wind and waves in the Andaman Sea are 1 - 2 meters high and in the offshore of the Gulf, the waves are 1 - 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. During 1 - 2 July, the wind and waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf will Strengthen. The waves in the upper Andaman Sea are about 2 meters high, 1-2 meters high in the lower Andaman Sea, about 2 meters high in offshore of the Gulf and above 2 meters high in thundershowers.
Caution
During 26 June - 27 July , people in the North and the Northeast of Thailand should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulations that may causes flashflood and overflows, especially, along foothills near waterways and lowlands. All ships in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers throughout the period.
