Weather Outlook During 3 - 9 July 2023
During 3 - 5 Jul, the rather strong southwest monsoon prevailing the upper Andaman Sea, the upper Thailand and the Gulf will weaken. Furthermore, the low pressure covers the upper Vietnam so, abundant rains are likely in the upper country and isolated heavy rains are likely in the North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the East regions. The wind and waves in the Andaman sea and the Gulf will weaken. The waves in the upper Andaman Sea is about 2 meters high, the lower Andaman sea and the upper Gulf is about 1-2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. During 6 - 9 July, The moderate southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf. While the southerly and southeasterly winds will prevail across the lower Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, the East and the south leading to less rain in the upper country whereas it is possible to occur thundershowers and isolated heavy rains in some area. On the other hand, more rains are likely in the South. The winds and waves in the Andaman sea and the Gulf will weaken, the Andaman sea is forecast 1 - 2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershowers.
Caution
During 3 - 5 Jul, people in upper Thailand beware of heavy rains and accumulations that may cause flashflood and overflows, especially, along foothills near waterways and lowlands. All ships in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers.
