During 14 - 15 Jul, the monsoon trough will lies across Myanmar, the upper North and upper Laos into the low-pressure cell over the coast of upper Vietnam and the Gulf of Tonkin. Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf will strengthen. More rains and isolated heavy rains are likely in the upper North and the upper Northeast while isolated heavy rain is likely in the South (west coast). The winds and waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf are expected 1 - 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. During 16 - 20 Jul, the monsoon trough will move down to the North, the Northeast and the upper Central of Thailand into the low-pressure cell over the upper South China Sea. Meanwhile, the strong southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf. More rain and isolated heavy to very heavy rains are likely in the overall country. The strong wind forces the waves in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf upto 2 - 4 meters high, above 4 meters high in thundershowers. In the lower Gulf, the waves are 2 - 3 meters high, above 3 meters high in thundershowers. Addition, tropical depression over the Philippines is forecast to move to the South China Sea and expected to intensify. It is expected to move pass through Hainan island into the coast of upper Vietnam during 18 - 19 Jul.
Caution
During 16 - 20 Jul, People in Thailand should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulations that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially, along water ways and lowland. All ships in the lower Gulf should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. All ships in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf keep ashore.
