Weather Outlook During 17 - 23 July 2023
During 17 - 19 Jul, the monsoon trough will move down to the upper North and the upper Northeast. Meanwhile, the strong southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf. Isolated thundershower with heavy rains are likely in the overall country while isolated very heavy rains are likely the East and the South (west coast). The strong wind forces the waves in the Andaman Sea up to 2 - 4 meters high, above 4 meters high in thundershowers. In the upper Gulf, the waves are 2 - 3 meters high, above 3 meters high in thundershowers. During 20 - 23 Jul, the monsoon trough will move down to the North, the Northeast and the upper Central of Thailand. Meanwhile, the rather strong southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf. More rains with isolated heavy to very heavy rains are possible in the overall country. The rather strong wind forces the waves in the Andaman Sea up to 2 - 3 meters high, above 3 meters high in thundershowers. In the upper Gulf, the waves are about 2 meters high, above 2 meters high in thundershowers. Addition, severe tropical storm ?TALIM? is expected to intensify. It is expected to move to the Guangdong province, the South China into the coast of upper Vietnam during 18 - 19 Jul, before weakening respectively.
Caution
People in Thailand should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulations that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially, along water ways and lowland. All ships in the lower Gulf should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. All ships in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf keep ashore throughout the period.
