Weekly Forecast for 26 July - 1 August 2023
During 27 - 28 Jul, the rather strong southwest monsoon prevailing over Thailand becomes weaker while the low- pressure cell covers upper Vietnam. Less rains are likely in the country and isolated heavy rains are possible in the eastern part of the Northeast, the East and the South regions. The moderate wind and waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf are 1 - 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. During 29 Jul - 1 Aug, the moderate monsoon trough will move down to lie across the upper North and upper Laos into the low-pressure cell over the coast of upper Vietnam. Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon prevailing over Thailand becomes stronger. More rain are likely in the overall country. Isolated heavy rains are likely in the North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok Metropolitan Region and the South (east coast) while isolated very heavy rains are possible in the East and the South (west coast). The rather strong wind forces the waves in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf up to 2 - 3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers while 1-2 meters high in the lower Andaman Sea and the lower Gulf and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. The tropical typhoon ?Doksuri? over upper Philippines is expected to move to the upper South China Sea during 26 - 27 Jul, and will make landfall over the southeastern China on 28 Aug, then will downgrad to the tropical storm, tropical depression and low-pressure cell, respectively. This storm with no direct effect to Thailand.
Caution
During 29 Jul - 1 Aug, People in Thailand should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulations that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially, along water ways and lowland. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers throughout the period, small boats in the upper Andaman and the upper Gulf keep ashore During 29 Jul - 1 Aug.
