During 22 - 28 Aug, the moderate monsoon trough will move up to lie across upper Myanmar and upper Laos into the low-pressure cell over the coast of upper Vietnam and the Gulf of Tonkin. Meanwhile, the moderate southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea and the South will strengthen during 26 - 28 Aug. Isolated thundershower and heavy rains are likely in the country During 22 - 25 Aug, the moderate wind and waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf are about 1 meter high and 1 - 2 meters high in thundershowers. During 26 - 28 Aug, the strengthening wind forces the waves in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf up to height 1 - 2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershowers and about 1 meter high in the lower Andaman Sea and the lower Gulf, 1 - 2 meters high in thundershowers.
Caution
During 22 - 26 Aug, people in upper Thailand should beware of heavy rains and accumulated rainfall that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands. During 26 - 28 Aug, all ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers.
