Thailand Daily Weather Forecast
General Situation
28 August 2023
The monsoon trough lies across upper Myanmar and upper Laos into the low-pressure cell over upper Vietnam and the Gulf of Tonkin. Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand. This cause isolated thundershowers in the country while heavy rains are possible in some of the upper Northeast. People should beware of the severe conditions that may cause flash floods and overflows especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands. For the Andaman Sea and the Gulf, the waves are about 1 meter high and 1-2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. In addition, Tropical typhoon SAOLA due northeast of Philippines is expected to move through Taiwan from 30 August to 1 September with no direct effect on Thailand.
