General Situation

The monsoon trough lies across the upper North and upper Laos into the low-pressure cell over upper Vietnam and the Gulf of Tonkin will strengthening. Expected the monsoon trough will move down to lies across the North and the Northeast of Thailand. Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand will strengthening. This cause isolated thundershowers in the country while heavy rains are possible in some of the North and the upper Northeast. People should beware of the severe conditions that may cause flash floods and overflows especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands. The winds force and waves over the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand, the wind becomes moderate with waves about 2 meters high and more than 2 meters high in thundershowers. The lower Andaman Sea has waves 1-2 meters high and more than 2 meters high in thundershowers. The lower Gulf the are about 1 meter high and 1-2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. In addition, tropical typhoon ?SAOLA? over the Pacific Ocean or the northeastern of Philippines is expected to move into the upper South China Sea during 30 August ? 1 September and make landfall over the southeast of China during 2?4 September. Northeastern
Scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rains in Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan and Amnat Charoen. Minimum temperature 23-26 C. Maximum temperature 32-36 C. Southwesterly winds 10-20 km/hr.
Central
Isolated thundershowers mostly in Uthai Thani, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Saraburi and Kanchanaburi. Minimum temperature 24-26 C. Maximum temperature 34-36 C. Southwesterly winds 10-25 km/hr.
Eastern
Scattered thundershowers mostly in Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Chanthaburi and Trat. Minimum temperature 25-28 C. Maximum temperature 32-35 C. Southwesterly winds 20-35 km/hr. Wave height about 2 meters and more than 2 meters in thundershowers.
Southern (East Coast)
Isolated thundershowers mostly in Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Yala and Narathiwat. Minimum temperature 23-26 C. Maximum temperature 34-36 C. Surat Thani upwards: southwesterly winds 20-35 km/hr. Wave height about 2 meters, more than 2 meters in thundershowers, more than 2 meters offshore. Nakhon Si Thammarat downwards: Southwesterly winds 15-30 km/hr. Wave height about 1 meter and 1-2 meters in thundershowers.
Southern (West Coast)
Scattered thundershowers mostly in Ranong, Phangnga, Phuket and Krabi. Minimum temperature 24-26 C. Maximum temperature 30-34 C. Phuket upwards: southwesterly winds 20-35 km/hr. Wave height about 2 meters, more than 2 meters in thundershowers Krabi downwards: Southwesterly winds 15-35 km/hr. Wave height 1-2 meters and about 2 meters in thundershowers.
Bangkok Metropolitan
Scattered thundershowers. Minimum temperature 26-28 C. Maximum temperature 33-36 C. Southwesterly winds 10-25 km/hr.
