General Situation

The strong monsoon trough lies across the North and the Northeast while the rather strong southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea and the Gulf. These cause isolated heavy rains in the Central and the South regions. Very heavy rains are possible in the North, the Northeast and the East. People should beware of the severe conditions that may cause flash floods and overflows especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands. The rather strong winds forces the waves in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf 2-3 meters high and more than 3 meters high in thundershowers. The lower Andaman Sea has waves 1-2 meters high and more than 2 meters high in thundershowers. The lower Gulf the are about 1 meter high and 1-2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. In addition, Tropical Typhoon ?SAOLA? in the north of the South China Sea is expected to move to the coast of southern China from 1 - 3 September. This storm has no direct effect on Thailand.

Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy to very heavy rains in Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Lampang, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Tak, Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet, Phitsanulok, Phichit and Phetchabun. Minimum temperature 23-25 C. Maximum temperature 30-35 C. Variable winds 10-20 km/hr.
Northeastern
Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy to very heavy rains in Loei, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani. Minimum temperature 23-25 C. Maximum temperature 30-33 C. Variable winds 10-25 km/hr.
Central
Scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rains in Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chai Nat, Lop Buri, Saraburi, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, Suphanburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Songkhram and Samut Sakhon. Minimum temperature 25-27 C. Maximum temperature 34-36 C. Southwesterly winds 10-25 km/hr.
Eastern
Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy to very heavy rains in Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat. Minimum temperature 24-29 C. Maximum temperature 30-34 C. Southwesterly winds 20-40 km/hr. Wave height 2-3 meters and more than 3 meters in thundershowers.
Southern (East Coast)
Scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rains in Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon and Surat Thani. Minimum temperature 24-26 C. Maximum temperature 33-35 C. Surat Thani upwards: southwesterly winds 20-35 km/hr. Wave height about 2 meters and more than 2 meters in thundershowers. Nakhon Si Thammarat downwards: Southwesterly winds 15-30 km/hr. Wave height about 1 meter and 1-2 meters in thundershowers.
Southern (West Coast)
Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy to very heavy rains. in Ranong, Phangnga, Phuket and Krabi. Minimum temperature 24-27 C. Maximum temperature 30-33 C. Phuket upwards: southwesterly winds 20-40 km/hr. Wave height 2-3 meters and more than 3 meters in thundershowers Krabi downwards: Southwesterly winds 15-35 km/hr. Wave height 1-2 meters and about 2 meters in thundershowers.
