Weather Outlook During 31 August - 6 September 2023
During 31 Aug ? 4 Sep, the strong monsoon trough moves down to lie across the North, the Central and the Northeast of Thailand. Meanwhile, the rather strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf. The rains and isolated heavy rains to very heavy rains are likely in Thailand. After that, the monsoon trough will move to lie across the North, the upper Northeast and Laos. The rains and isolated heavy rains are likely in Thailand. The rather strong wind forces the waves in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf, the waves up to 2 ? 3 meters high and above 3 meters in thundershowers. In the lower Andaman Sea and the lower Gulf, the waves has 1 - 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. In addition, Typhoon ?SAOLA? in the upper South China Sea is expected to move near Hongkong, China on 1 Sep 2023, then move along the coast of southern China during 2 ? 4 Sep 2023. This typhoon will not direct effect on Thailand. Please stay tuned for the weather update.
Caution
People in Thailand should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and its accumulation that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands throughout the period. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers and small boats in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf keep ashore throughout the period.
