General Situation

The strong monsoon trough lies across the North, the Central and the lower Northeast of Thailand while the rather strong southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea and the Gulf. These cause isolated heavy rains in the North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity and the South (east coast) regions. Very heavy rains are possible in and the East and the South (west coast). People should beware of the severe conditions that may cause flash floods and overflows especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands. The rather strong winds forces the waves in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf up to 2-3 meters high and more than 3 meters high in thundershowers. In the lower Andaman Sea and the lower Gulf, the waves have 1-2 meters high and more than 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers, small boats in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf keep ashore. In addition, Tropical Typhoon ?SAOLA? in the upper South China Sea is expected to move near Hongkong, China by today (1 Sep 2023), then move along the coast of southern China and it will decline to tropical storm and tropical depression, respectively during 2 ? 4 Sep 2023. This storm has no direct effect on Thailand.

Northern
Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rains in Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Lampang, Uttaradit, Phitsanulok, Phichit and Phetchabun. Minimum temperature 23-26 C. Maximum temperature 32-36 C. Variable winds 10-20 km/hr.
Northeastern
Scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rains in Loei, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram and Surin. Minimum temperature 23-25 C. Maximum temperature 32-34 C. Variable winds 10-25 km/hr.
Central
Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rains in Nakhon Sawan, Lopburi, Saraburi, Singburi, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Suphanburi and Nakhon Pathom. Minimum temperature 24-26 C. Maximum temperature 29-34 C. Southwesterly winds 10-25 km/hr.
Eastern
Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy to very heavy rains in Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat. Minimum temperature 24-26 C. Maximum temperature 29-35 C. Southwesterly winds 20-40 km/hr. Wave height 2-3 meters and more than 3 meters in thundershowers.
Southern (East Coast)
Scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rains in Chumphon, Surat Thani and Nakhon Si Thammarat. Minimum temperature 24-27 C. Maximum temperature 32-35 C. Surat Thani upwards: southwesterly winds 20-35 km/hr. Wave height about 2 meters and more than 2 meters in thundershowers. Nakhon Si Thammarat downwards: Southwesterly winds 15-35 km/hr. Wave height 1-2 meters and more than 2 meters in thundershowers.
Southern (West Coast)
Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy to very heavy rains in Ranong, Phangnga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun. Minimum temperature 24-27 C. Maximum temperature 28-32 C. Phuket upwards: southwesterly winds 20-40 km/hr. Wave height 2-3 meters and more than 3 meters in thundershowers Krabi downwards: Southwesterly winds 15-35 km/hr. Wave height 1-2 meters and about 2 meters in thundershowers.
Bangkok Metropolitan
Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rains. Minimum temperature 24-26 C. Maximum temperature 32-36 C. Southwesterly winds 10-25 km/hr.
