General Situation

The strong monsoon trough lies across the North and the upper Northeast of Thailand into the low-pressure cell over the Gulf of Tonkin. Meanwhile, the moderate southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, the Central, the East, the South and the Gulf. Thundershowers are likely in the country and isolated heavy to very heavy rains are possible in the North and the Northeast. People should beware of the severe conditions that may cause flash floods and overflows especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands. The moderate winds and waves in the upper Andaman Sea are about 2 meters high and more than 2 meters high in thundershowers. In the lower Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf, the waves have 1-2 meters high and more than 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Tropical storm YUN-YEUNG over Pacific Ocean is expected to move near the eastern part of Japan during 8 - 9 September. This storm has no effect on Thailand.

Northern
Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rains in Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae Uttaradit, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Sukhothai, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun. Minimum temperature 23-24 C. Maximum temperature 30-34 C. Variable winds 10-20 km/hr.
Northeastern
Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy to very heavy rains in Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram and Surin. Minimum temperature 23-25 C. Maximum temperature 32-33 C. Variable winds 10-20 km/hr.
Central
Scattered thundershowers mostly in Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat Singburi, Ang Thong, Lopburi, Saraburi and Kanchanaburi. Minimum temperature 25-26 C. Maximum temperature 32-34 C. Southwesterly winds 10-20 km/hr.
Eastern
Scattered thundershowers mostly in Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat. Minimum temperature 25-28 C. Maximum temperature 29-34 C. Southwesterly winds 15-35 km/hr. Wave height 1-2 meters and more than 2 meters in thundershowers.
Southern (East Coast)
Scattered thundershowers mostly in Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat. Minimum temperature 24-27 C. Maximum temperature 33-34 C. Surat Thani upwards: southwesterly winds 15-35 km/hr. Wave height 1-2 meters and more than 2 meters in thundershowers. Nakhon Si Thammarat downwards: Southwesterly winds 15-30 km/hr. Wave height about 1 meter and more than 2 meters in thundershowers.
Southern (West Coast)
Isolated thundershowers mostly in Ranong and Phang Nga. Minimum temperature 24-27 C. Maximum temperature 32-34 C. Ranong upwards: southwesterly winds 20-35 km/hr. Wave height about 2 meters and more than 2 meters in thundershowers Phang Nga downwards: southwesterly winds 15-35 km/hr. Wave height 1-2 meters and more than 2 meters in thundershowers.
Bangkok Metropolitan
Scattered thundershowers. Minimum temperature 26-27 C. Maximum temperature 33-36 C. Southwesterly winds 10-20 km/hr.
